Our company's founder, Peter Crafts, proprietor to the Stuart location, has been nationally recognized for his achievements within the industry for over 49 years. His son, Jason Crafts, took ownership of The Gilt Complex (Avalon) in 2003 after over 10 years of apprenticing and honing his skills as a Conservator and Gilder.
We provide museum quality Conservation and Restoration Services to both retail and wholesale clients throughout the Eastern Seaboard. Our area of expertise includes Painting Conservation (all mediums), Frame Restoration and Gilding, and Paper Conservation. Over 200 Art Galleries, Picture Framers, and other industries have added the unique facet of Fine Art Conservation to their business profile by taking full advantage of our door to door service. Rarely found in today’s industry, we offer our expert conservation to businesses without the hassle of shipping, insurance, and other headaches.
Over the years we have had the privilege to preserve works by such noted artists as Severen Roesen, E.D. Lewis, Fern Coppedge, Carleton Wiggins, Emile Gruppe', James Hamilton, James McNeil Whistler, Gilbert Stuart and hundreds of others too numerous to list. In 2005, The Gilt Complex was the chosen firm to preserve and frame over 30 newly discovered paintings and watercolors by noted Bucks County Impressionist, Walter Emerson Baum.
We also provide picture framing services with unmatched quality and integrity. Both our New Jersey and Florida showroom's house the finest selection of hand-made period frames for the serious collector, or the more casual needs of young families or simplistic tastes. In addition to this, all of your matting and fitting needs are done in house.
